Here is the beginning of a story I am calling Busted for now:

Busted!

How was I going to explain this? Here I was at the mail box in my Green Super Beatle at 1:00 in the afternoon. I was supposed to be in English class 20 miles away, and my mother did not look happy at all. At least I already had what I had come for, and I do not think that she saw me until after I had put all of the mail back, at least that’s what I hope.

This has been one of those weeks that you read about in books and say to yourself that that is something that could never happen in real life, but then you realize that it is true when they say life is stranger than fiction.

“James!!”

What am I going to say? She definitely is not happy, and I am sure that she has no idea why I am here. I better think of something quick, because the truth is not an option. I would rather tell her I am picking up drugs than tell her why I am really here.

It probably would be best if I started telling you about this closer the beginning as apposed to where we are right now. Where, when, why and how; aren’t those the four questions a reporter is supposed to ask? The first two are easy Knoxville, TN in the spring of 1986 this is at the cusp of the technology revolution. PC’s are a novelty cell phones are the size of a briefcase and no one has heard of the World Wide Web. It was really a time of innocence, AIDS was a diet candy, Russia was the evil empire, and my generation thought that the Hippies and Yuppies were wasting their lives and our resources. I had better stop before I get into a diatribe about being a generation X’er in the Mid-South.

The why and how are a little more complicated. It all started because of Senior Prom, actually at our school it was Junior Prom, but since I am a senior we referred to it as Senior Prom.

.....

Well I guess it is time to start actually blogging. I definitely am not leading the pack in this and you are certain to see some abortive attempts at stories but you may see something that is complete and interesting.

Let us see what comes.
